Recently， a NIO charging pile located in a mountain gully near the Wanshou Lake Scenic Area in Heyuan， Guangdong， has become a sensation online due to its unique appearance. Netizens have affectionately dubbed it the “Cyber Land Temple” or “New Era Land Temple.”
Videos shared by netizens show the charging pile standing alone by the roadside. To protect it from the elements and ensure charging safety， a small shelter has been added， giving it the appearance of a miniature land temple from a distance.
It is understood that this charging pile was initially built by Huang Xiaocheng， a NIO ES8 owner， to meet his personal charging needs. Recognizing the scarcity of charging resources around the scenic area， he decided to open it up for public use， benefiting tourists.
Huang Xiaocheng shared that many tourists， especially those driving electric vehicles who require charging， express immense relief and joy upon discovering this facility. They consider it a lifesaver for their electric cars.
This incident garnered significant online attention and discussion. Upon learning about the situation， NIO’s Shenzhen regional company swiftly responded by installing three additional charging units in the vicinity. This development led to the establishment of the Heyuan Dongyuan Lihua Wushe Destination Charging Station， aimed at supporting the charging needs of all new energy vehicle users in the area.
Netizens humorously commented， “Electric car drivers passing by here feel compelled to offer a kowtow，” and “You can only imagine where NIO charging piles *aren’t* built; they seem to be everywhere.”
