On November 7th， Leapmotor officially commenced pre-sales for its new all-electric coupe， the Lafa5. The vehicle is available in five different configurations， with pricing ranging from 105，800 to 131，800 RMB.
Customers who place a deposit of 99 RMB will receive a voucher for a 2，000 RMB discount on the final payment. Additionally， there’s a limited-time offer of a complimentary personalized exterior paint color， valued at 2，000 RMB. Existing Leapmotor owners who purchase the Lafa5 will benefit from a cash subsidy of 4，000 RMB per vehicle.
The new Lafa5 is built on the LEAP 3.5 architecture B platform. Under CLTC conditions， it offers a pure electric range of 515-605 km. Notably， it comes equipped with the advanced 8295 chip and LiDAR， features that are often found in higher-segment vehicles. An even more performance-oriented Lafa5 Ultra version is slated for release in the second quarter of next year.
The Lafa5 is available in six body color options， including a “Compete Yellow，” which is also featured on the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra， adding a distinctive and eye-catching personality to the vehicle.
The front fascia of the Lafa5 incorporates sporty elements such as an AGS active grille， a dynamic hood design， “wind-breaking” front lips， and air curtains. The family-styled three-segment headlights offer strong brand recognition with their sharp and aggressive form， while the rear features a distinctive “flying wing star” through-type taillight strip.
A unique selling point for the segment is the Lafa5’s inclusion of six auxiliary driving assistance indicator lights. These blue lights illuminate when the driver-assistance system is active. The vehicle’s profile is characterized by a strong， sculpted waistline that extends from the front fender to the rear taillights. The car boasts a 50:50 front-to-rear weight distribution， optimizing handling and driving dynamics.

Inside， the Lafa5 features an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.6-inch 2.5K high-definition central control screen powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P flagship chip. The fully digital instrument panel is mounted directly on the steering column， enhancing the driver-focused cockpit experience， complemented by a dual-spoke multi-function steering wheel.
Below the central touchscreen， the cabin features a dual-channel air vent design. This area also integrates a single wireless charging pad and a vertically oriented dual cup holder setup.
The interior is finished with matte black and gunmetal grey chrome accents， combined with extensive soft-touch materials， creating a balance of sporty appeal and comfort. The base model offers interior color choices of “Speed Domain Purple” and “Chasing Shadow Grey.”

The Lafa5 measures 4430mm in length， 1880mm in width， and 1520mm in height， with a wheelbase of 2735mm. The cabin features a 1.02 square meter panoramic glass roof with a unique direct-drive electric sunshade， setting it apart in its class.
Rear shoulder room measures 1401mm， exceeding that of the Model 3， and rear legroom is an impressive 580mm， providing ample space and surpassing many competitors. Furthermore， the rear seatback can recline up to 27 degrees， a feature more commonly found in luxury SUVs.
Under the hood， the Lafa5 is powered by a rear-wheel-drive electric motor with a peak output of 160 kW， enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in as little as 6.4 seconds. A lower-power variant offers 132 kW. The available CLTC ranges are 515 km and 605 km.
An exclusive feature for its class is the Lafa5’s “launch control” mode. When engaged in sport mode and following on-screen prompts， drivers can activate this feature via a dedicated UI for exhilarating standing starts.
