On November 9th, Huawei Terminal BG CTO Li Xiaolong shared an unboxing of the Huawei Router X3 Pro “Rizhao Jinshan” (Golden Mountain in Sunlight) Mother-Daughter Set.
This set includes one main router, one satellite router, two power/PLC adapters, and three network cables.
The main router is equipped with two 2.5G Ethernet ports and one power/PLC port. The satellite router features a single power/PLC port.
In response to a netizen’s comment about PLC technology being unreliable and resulting in poor speeds, Li Xiaolong stated, “Today’s PLC is not what it used to be. It supports multi-link networking and can easily achieve gigabit speeds and beyond. For large homes without existing Ethernet cabling, PLC is the optimal solution.”
This statement highlights Huawei’s confidence in the advancements of their Powerline Communication (PLC) technology. Historically, PLC has faced challenges with performance fluctuations due to the quality and complexity of household electrical wiring, as well as interference from other electrical devices. However, Huawei’s assertion that their latest iteration offers improved stability and speed suggests significant technological upgrades, potentially employing newer standards and robust error correction mechanisms. This makes it a compelling alternative for users who are reluctant or unable to run new Ethernet cables throughout their homes, especially in larger properties or older buildings where such renovations can be costly and disruptive.
Digital blogger “Kanshan Shu” reported that the Huawei Router X3 Pro “Rizhao Jinshan” is the first in the industry to feature 1500Mbps PLC technology. It supports the third-generation PLC networking technology, significantly improving anti-interference capabilities, and can connect up to an impressive 15 satellite routers.
The Huawei Store indicates that the Huawei Router X3 Pro “Rizhao Jinshan” Mother-Daughter Set is suitable for homes between 90-120 square meters (2-3 bedrooms). The main router can cover up to 90 square meters (2 bedrooms). Users can flexibly configure the system based on their home size and needs, making it capable of addressing the demands of larger residences like villas.
The Huawei Router X3 Pro “Rizhao Jinshan” is priced starting at 1299 yuan. The main router is priced at 1299 yuan, the satellite router at 799 yuan, and the mother-child set is available for 1999 yuan.
As Huawei’s first artistic router, the main unit of the Huawei Router X3 Pro “Rizhao Jinshan” features a cylindrical body. The upper half has a transparent casing, revealing a mountain peak design inside.
Under illumination, the router can display two distinct natural landscapes: “Rizhao Jinshan” (Golden Mountain in Sunlight) and “Xue Luo Man Shan” (Snow Falling on the Mountain). The top of the router also supports light effect mode switching with a light touch.
