一位车主表示, his car was purchased in April 2021. After the warranty period expired, the central control screen began to malfunction, initially unresponsive at the top, and eventually completely unresponsive. He initially assumed it was a normal failure and used a mouse as a substitute.
The pattern of these failures is noteworthy. Many owners report that the central control screen issues only emerge after the warranty period has expired, leading to suspicions that this is not an isolated incident but rather a recurring problem.
Following online complaints, the owner reported that the manufacturer, Changan, contacted him for an inspection, and the issue is currently being addressed, with an estimated resolution time of one week.
This situation is not unique to a few individuals. The “Chezhiwang” platform also hosts a significant number of complaints from UNI-T owners regarding the same central control screen malfunction. A common thread among these complaints is that the problem appears shortly after the vehicle exits its warranty period.
One owner shared that in late 2024, the screen began to experience partial unresponsiveness, which escalated to complete failure by May of this year. The 4S dealership informed him that only replacement was an option, with a quote of approximately 4,000 to 5,000 yuan. He pointed out the frustrating irony: the screen didn’t fail while under warranty, but as soon as it expired, the problem surfaced. This situation feels exploitative to the car owners.
Regarding the touchscreen malfunction, Changan Automobile’s customer service stated that owners with similar issues can arrange for an inspection at a dealership, and the manufacturer will provide technical support.
However, when questioned about the resolution for vehicles that are out of warranty, a Changan customer service representative claimed the information was internal and could not be disclosed.
