As reported by Kuai Technology on July 5th, a striking golden python unexpectedly appeared in an open area outside the Guizhou Academy of Agricultural Sciences, causing alarm among nearby residents. The “uninvited guest” proved elusive, with repeated attempts to drive it away failing. Consequently, emergency services were called.
The Guiyang Fire Rescue Detachment responded swiftly. Upon arrival, firefighters found the approximately 1.6-meter-long golden python calmly navigating an open space near a fence. The snake, with its metallic golden scales and a slightly triangular head, presented a rare and unusual sight.
To ensure the safety of the public and prevent the snake from becoming agitated or causing harm, the firefighters donned professional protective gear and used specialized tools to safely subdue the reptile.
Subsequent identification by experts revealed the snake to be a golden python, a species listed as a National First-Class Protected Animal in China. Golden pythons, native to Southeast Asia, develop their distinctive golden coloration due to a rare albino mutation. Their appearance in the wild is exceptionally uncommon, making this sighting in Guiyang’s urban area a particularly notable event.
The precious golden python has since been safely relocated to Guiyang’s Qianling Mountain Park, where it will receive professional care and begin a new chapter.
