Tongxin Software Launches Desktop Virtualization Solution for Enhanced Application Compatibility
On July 17th, Tongxin Software announced the official launch of its desktop local virtualization software, codenamed “Caihong” (Rainbow), on the Tongxin App Store. Users can download the software and enjoy a 30-day full-featured free trial.
To access the software, users can simply open the Tongxin UOS App Store, search for “Tongxin Desktop Local Virtualization Software” or “Caihong,” and click the install button once found.
The Caihong solution leverages integrated virtualization technology to address a critical challenge in the burgeoning domestic IT ecosystem: the inability of many essential Windows applications, particularly those in engineering (like CAD software) and finance (such as tax reporting systems), to run on AMD64 architecture-based domestic innovation (“Xinchuang”) terminals.
Tongxin Software has stated that the software supports the direct operation of a diverse range of Windows applications within the Tongxin UOS environment. This significantly broadens the utility and user base for domestic operating systems, allowing professionals to run their established Windows-based workflows without compromising on essential software.
Users will no longer need to switch between operating systems. Popular Windows applications like Photoshop and Microsoft Office can now be opened directly within Tongxin UOS, appearing as if they were native applications, presented within their own windows.
The software also facilitates the installation and launching of Windows applications directly within Tongxin UOS. Furthermore, Caihong offers comprehensive management features, including sending desktop shortcuts, refreshing, searching, and uninstalling these virtualized Windows applications, providing a seamless user experience.
A notable feature of Caihong is its support for direct data exchange between Tongxin UOS and Windows environments through simple copy-paste operations. This includes text, files, and images, eliminating the need for manual data transfer steps.
The integration also allows direct access to files stored within Tongxin UOS from the Windows environment. This capability streamlines workflows and reduces the burden of frequently switching systems or relying on external storage devices for data transfer.
In terms of resource management, Caihong allows users to manually adjust allocated resources such as CPU and memory for virtual machines, catering to the specific demands of different applications. It also enables manual switching of USB device connections between Tongxin UOS and Windows, offering greater flexibility and control over hardware peripheral usage.
