On August 1st, according to Kuaikeji, last night, NIO’s premium SUV, the L90, was officially launched with six different trims.
For the six-seater models, the outright purchase price ranges from 265,800 to 299,800 RMB. Opting for the Bass battery rental model brings the price down to 179,800 to 213,800 RMB. The seven-seater variants are priced between 271,800 and 299,800 RMB for outright purchase, and 185,800 to 213,800 RMB with the Bass battery rental option.
While Le Dao has not yet released specific order numbers post-launch, the competitive battery rental price of 179,800 RMB positions the L90 favorably against its peers in the market. This suggests a strong likelihood of significant sales success for the Le Dao L90.
Xia Qinghua, General Manager of NIO Shanghai Regional Company, shared on WeChat Moments yesterday evening, “I’ve been with the company for ten years and have seen the app freeze numerous times, but this is the first time the sales system has been overwhelmed! The Le Dao L90 has truly come into its own this time!”
Qinghua’s remarks further indicate the exceptionally positive initial reception and order volume for the Le Dao L90, to the extent that it overwhelmed the sales system.
Objectively, the Le Dao L90 presents a highly competitive package in terms of specifications and pricing. With an outright purchase price starting at 265,800 RMB, it offers distinct advantages in space and features when compared to other three-row flagship SUVs in the same segment. This competitive pricing strategy directly addresses a key consideration for many potential buyers in the premium SUV market.
Furthermore, NIO has learned from previous experiences of extended delivery times. The Le Dao L90 is available for immediate delivery upon launch, which is a significant draw for customers eager to get behind the wheel of their new vehicle. This prompt delivery capability, coupled with the vehicle’s overall appeal, is likely a major factor contributing to the high initial demand.
