Tech Kuaizhi, August 3rd. Razer’s “Razer Toaster” project has been long delayed, but SignalRGB has taken a proactive step by incorporating a fully functional RTX 5060 gaming PC into a toaster chassis and announcing it will be given away for free.
SignalRGB’s toaster PC, at first glance, appears to be a standard four-slice silver toaster. However, upon closer inspection, it reveals a compact Mini-ITX system housed within.
The PC boasts an Intel Core i5-14600K processor, a Zotac RTX 5060 graphics card, 32GB of DDR5 RAM, an 850W power supply, and a 1TB NVMe SSD.
To enhance its “professional” gaming aesthetic, SignalRGB has integrated a full-sized Stream Deck onto the front. The sides are perforated to facilitate airflow for the internal fans, and notably, the toaster’s iconic lever has been repurposed to control the computer’s power and reset functions.
Furthermore, the entire toaster unit is adorned with RGB lighting strips, lending it a distinctly futuristic and tech-forward appearance.
This creation by SignalRGB appears to be a direct retort to Razer’s unfulfilled promise. As they stated, “This isn’t half-baked. We gutted a real toaster and put a real gaming rig inside.”
While it may not toast bread as Razer once envisioned, it undoubtedly delivers a powerful gaming experience and maintains the convincing look of an ordinary kitchen appliance.
Razer’s “Project Breadwinner” toaster project originated as a jest in 2013 and was later presented as an April Fools’ Day prank by Razer’s CEO in 2016.
The CEO had pledged to bring the toaster to life if it garnered sufficient likes and, quite remarkably, tattoos of the device. This led to at least twelve individuals tattooing Razer toaster designs onto their bodies. However, the project has seen no updates since 2019, leaving many enthusiasts disappointed.
SignalRGB has announced that they will be giving away this toaster PC completely free of charge, bundled with a 10-port Thunderbolt 4 docking station.
Some netizens have humorously suggested that SignalRGB should produce eleven more units specifically for those who got Razer toaster tattoos, recognizing the significant personal commitment they made to the original concept.
