Fast Technology, August 9th. After a 21-day period, the voting for the new name of the integrated BYD App concluded on July 31st. Initially, the name “成就梦想” (Achieve Dreams) was selected as the winner with 7,648 votes.
However, BYD officially announced last night that, following careful internal deliberations, the BYD App will continue to use its original name, “BYD”. This decision signifies a shift in strategy after the extensive user consultation process.
BYD has stated that the user who submitted “成就梦想” will still receive the originally planned adoption rewards, which include 10,000 points and 50 dream points, in addition to the finalist award. This gesture acknowledges the user’s participation and the value of their submission, even though the name was not adopted.
It is understood that in April of this year, BYD launched a public beta recruitment campaign for its “BYD APP” experience officers, signaling the consolidation of the independent apps for its five automotive brands: Dynasty, Ocean, Denza, Yangwang, and Fangchengbao. This integration is a significant step towards streamlining the user experience for BYD’s diverse customer base.
Previously, owners of multiple BYD vehicles across different brands often had to frequently switch between various apps. The unified app now allows for cross-brand vehicle remote control, such as pre-activating the in-car air conditioning or remotely unlocking and locking vehicles, offering a more convenient and integrated ownership experience.
Furthermore, user points and order data from the original individual brand apps have been automatically migrated, and the points system has been fully integrated. This means users can now redeem points earned across any brand for charging benefits, lifestyle accessories, and more. Membership tiers across different brands have also been unified, creating a more cohesive loyalty program.
Last month, BYD announced that it was soliciting names for its new app from all BYD App users. The criteria for the new name emphasized brand relevance, alignment with app functionality, and a reflection of BYD’s brand image, projecting technological advancement and a commitment to green mobility.
