On August 27th, XPeng announced the launch of the all-new generation XPeng P7. This refreshed model offers four distinct trims with a price range of 219,800 to 301,800 RMB. The official launch also included details on associated purchase incentives, which can be reviewed in further detail.
The vehicle boasts a futuristic cyber design, featuring a one-piece continuous “light wing” daytime running light at the front, matrix LED headlights, and a flush illuminated logo. When not illuminated, the logo adopts a dark finish, offering a more refined aesthetic compared to the commonly seen white emblems in the industry.
The new P7 continues to be positioned as a pure electric coupe. Its dimensions are 5017mm (length), 1970mm (width), and 1427mm (height), with a wheelbase of 3008mm, classifying it as a mid-to-large-sized sedan. It is available in six body color options.
The new vehicle features a width-to-height ratio of 1.40, a length-to-height ratio of 3.57, and a wheel-to-height ratio of 0.52, achieving sports car-like golden body proportions that convey both a dynamic and stable presence.
The blacked-out A-pillars create a visual effect of a floating roof. Combined with frameless exterior mirrors and windows, this design emphasizes the vehicle’s sporty and youthful character. Furthermore, the car boasts a remarkably low drag coefficient of just 0.201, contributing to an estimated range increase of 90 kilometers under CLTC testing cycles.
Notably, all variants of the new XPeng P7 come equipped with 20-inch wheels as standard. Optional 21-inch forged wheels are also available. The vehicle utilizes a staggered tire setup with 245mm front and 275mm rear tires, enhancing its handling capabilities.
The rear design is another highlight, featuring a distinctive shape that widens at the bottom to create a wide-body impression. It also incorporates a large liftgate and H-shaped taillight clusters that echo the design of the front lights, providing a cohesive look.
XPeng CEO He Xiaopeng specifically highlighted the vehicle’s electric rear spoiler, noting an investment of over ten million RMB to seamlessly integrate it with the bodywork. The spoiler supports 10-speed adjustment based on vehicle speed.
The interior of the new model offers three color schemes and features a slim instrument cluster that supports multiple display modes, including a striking sport-oriented red theme.
The newly designed multifunction steering wheel is a standout feature, with a compact 365mm diameter and a short 2.5-turn steering lock-to-lock ratio. It also supports four-way electric adjustment. Notably, it includes satellite control knobs, similar to those found in luxury sports cars, which can be rotated and pressed to activate various functions and even serve as the vehicle’s intelligent driving status indicator (“smart driving blue light”).
All XPeng P7 models are equipped with the G7-class AR-HUD (Augmented Reality Head-Up Display) system, featuring an impressive 87-inch projection size. This system even includes interactive “emotional” features, such as a “road rage diffuser” function that displays emojis, offering an engaging new way to interact with the vehicle’s interface.
A significant upgrade in the new XPeng P7 is its central infotainment screen, officially named the “three-axis flexible screen.” This screen is designed with a degree of anthropomorphism, capable of responding to head nods for activation. It has also undergone durability testing for one million cycles of movement.
Other notable interior features include a 9-inch streaming rearview mirror, an 8-inch rear entertainment screen, ambient lighting, and the industry-first Touch Pad intelligent control. Located on the inner side of the driver’s door panel, this touch pad can be customized for various functions, enhancing user convenience.
The front seats are designed as integrated “moving seats,” offering both heating and ventilation for the driver and front passenger. They also feature dedicated headrest speakers. The driver’s seat provides active bolster support, which delivers enhanced support and containment when cornering at higher speeds.
While the new P7 is positioned as a sporty coupe, the rear seating area doesn’t compromise on practicality and comfort. The vehicle features a triple-layered silver-coated panoramic roof, soft-close doors on all four openings, a 56-liter front trunk, a generous 575-liter rear cargo space, and an impressive 360° external voice control feature.
For a vehicle emphasizing sportiness, the drivetrain components are equally robust. The P7 adopts a “centralized electric drive layout” and is equipped with all-aluminum front double-wishbone and rear five-link independent suspension systems. All variants come standard with dual-chamber air suspension, CDC (Continuous Damping Control) variable shock absorbers, and the aforementioned staggered tire setup.
The single-motor version delivers a maximum output of 367 horsepower, with 0-100 km/h acceleration times of 5.8 and 5.4 seconds respectively. The dual-motor all-wheel-drive variant produces 593 horsepower, achieving 0-100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds. Its top speed is recorded at 230 km/h, with a braking distance of 33.16 meters from 100 km/h and a peak slalom speed of 90 km/h.

More impressively, the new XPeng P7 achieved a lap time of 1 minute and 38.767 seconds at the Zhejiang International Circuit. This performance surpasses many million-RMB sports cars and even outperforms the highly anticipated Xiaomi SU7 Max. This remarkable track capability is achieved with a maximum power output of only 593 horsepower.
The new P7 is equipped with the 5C ultra-fast charging AI battery across all its trims. It offers variants with a CLTC range of 701km, 820km, and 750km for the all-wheel-drive performance version. The charging capability is equally impressive, with the ability to add 525 kilometers of range in just 10 minutes, setting a new industry benchmark.
Furthermore, the all-new P7 features “Ultra” level intelligent driver assistance systems across all trims, powered by three self-developed Turing AI chips, boasting the world’s leading effective computing power. It has been upgraded to the latest VLA large model, engineered for L3 and L4 autonomous driving capabilities, with the ambition to achieve end-to-end intelligent driving capabilities exceeding 10x current performance.
