Xiaomi has officially announced the upcoming release of its Xiaomi Tablet 8 series this month, with expectations that the launch will coincide with the unveiling of the Xiaomi 17 series.
Based on Xiaomi’s historical product launch patterns and the typical release schedule for new flagship Snapdragon processors, it is highly probable that the official launch event will take place on September 25th, next Thursday. This timing aligns with industry trends for major tech unveilings.
The manufacturer has revealed the design of the Xiaomi Tablet 8 series, which appears to maintain a close resemblance to its predecessors. It continues to feature the familiar 11.2-inch display size.
It is worth noting that previous iterations of Xiaomi tablets have utilized LCD screens. There is speculation as to whether Xiaomi will opt for an OLED display upgrade in this new series, a move that would represent a significant enhancement in visual quality and user experience.

Furthermore, the company has confirmed that the new tablet will be the first device to officially launch with Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3. This new operating system is expected to bring a host of improvements and optimizations specifically tailored for the tablet experience. The integration of a floating keyboard and stylus support is also highlighted, significantly boosting the device’s productivity capabilities and positioning it as a strong contender in the productivity tablet market.
Regarding performance, Xiaomi has indicated that the tablet will be powered by a high-performance processor, though it will not feature the company’s self-developed Xuanjie O1 processor. This suggests a focus on widely adopted, powerful chipsets for mainstream appeal.

Previous benchmark results have indicated that the Xiaomi Tablet 8 Pro will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, running at a full clock speed of 4.32GHz, and will be paired with 16GB of RAM. This configuration promises exceptional performance for demanding applications and multitasking.
For the standard Xiaomi Tablet 8 model, it is anticipated that it will feature the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor. This would represent an upgrade from the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 found in the Xiaomi Tablet 7, offering enhanced efficiency and processing power.
