According to media reports on September 28th, the first pile has been successfully drilled and accepted for the 500,000-ton annual capacity bio-jet fuel research, development, and manufacturing headquarters base project in Chongqing. This marks the official commencement of substantive construction for this key project planned for 2025 in Chongqing. All participating parties jointly witnessed this significant milestone.
The project, undertaken by the Third Branch Company of China Construction Fifth Engineering Bureau, will cover a total construction area of approximately 110,000 square meters. It is slated to include production workshops, warehousing and logistics facilities, and be equipped with advanced production equipment such as a pre-treatment system. As a crucial link in strengthening and completing Chongqing’s aviation industry chain, the project’s completion is expected to powerfully foster new manufacturing momentum in the Wansheng area, promote industrial technological innovation, build a tiered system for nurturing high-quality enterprises, and achieve deep integration of innovation, industry, capital, and talent chains.
In the current context of green transformation within the aviation industry, the decarbonization applications of bio-jet fuel are particularly important. This project will not only fill a gap in Chongqing’s aviation industry chain but also play a significant role in promoting the green development of aviation energy and reducing aviation carbon emissions.
Since the project was awarded, the project management team has responded swiftly, with the first batch of 8 management personnel arriving promptly. Prior to construction, the team conducted scientific planning and comprehensive coordination, completing preparatory work such as the review of construction drawings, the development of the construction organization plan, and the approval of the scheme. They also optimized the allocation of resources including personnel, machinery, and materials. By establishing detailed construction processes and robust safety and quality assurance measures, they ensured effective衔接 (xiánjiē – connection/transition) between construction procedures, laying a solid foundation for the smooth commencement of the first pile and subsequent large-scale pile foundation construction.
