Konami’s new survival horror title, Silent Hill: The Short Message, has officially been released. The game’s narrative follows the protagonist, Chara, whose once peaceful life shatters instantly. The familiar town becomes shrouded in a dense fog, progressively turning eerie and ominous. The lively atmosphere of the town vanishes, replaced by strange creatures lurking within the mist.

Previously, upon the initial release of Silent Hill: The Short Message, some players reported an issue where bonus content for the Deluxe Edition was being distributed incorrectly. Players who had not purchased the Deluxe Edition unexpectedly received the pink rabbit costume, a reward exclusive to that edition, leading to confusion among many.

On October 2nd, Konami released version 1.02 for Silent Hill: The Short Message. This update aims to rectify the bug that caused players to receive incorrect bonus items. Let’s delve into the detailed contents of this patch.
The update includes the following changes:
Fixed an issue where users could acquire exclusive content without purchasing the specific version.
Players who do not own the rights to the exclusive content (e.g., Standard Edition players obtaining Deluxe Edition items, or non-pre-order players receiving pre-order bonuses) will no longer be able to use these related items.
- Reward skins will be removed from the list. If the game detects a player equipping a limited-edition skin upon loading a save file, it will automatically switch to the default skin.
- Reward talismans will be removed from the list. If the game detects a player equipping a restricted talisman upon loading a save file, it will be automatically unequipped.
- Within the reward menu at shrines, limited item packs will be removed. (Items already redeemed will not be cleared from inventory.)
Upon launching the game, if it detects that the player is using unauthorized version-exclusive content, a message will be displayed stating, “[Reward Name] not found. Please try re-downloading.”
