According to a report on October 29th, He Xiaopeng announced that XPeng AeroHT has partnered with Dunhuang to launch the first self-driving and flying tourist route in Northwest China, with flights expected to commence next year.
This pioneering route is specifically designed for new aerial vehicles, such as flying cars, aiming to revolutionize traditional ground-based tourism. Passengers will be able to experience the majestic landscapes of deserts, clear springs, ancient trails, and formidable passes from a unique low-altitude perspective.
The route commences at Echoing-Sand Mountain and Crescent Spring, proceeding through Crescent Spring Town, the Optoelectronic Expo Park, and the Yangguan and Yumenguan tourism areas, ultimately culminating at the Yardang World Geological Park. This carefully curated itinerary promises to showcase the diverse and awe-inspiring natural and historical heritage of the region.
It is anticipated that the initial batch of flight camps will be completed and operational by July 2026. The establishment of these specialized landing and take-off zones is a critical step in realizing the full potential of low-altitude tourism and ensuring safe and efficient operations.
Last October, XPeng AeroHT’s intelligent manufacturing base for flying cars broke ground in Guangzhou, with a planned annual production capacity of 10,000 units. Mass production and delivery are slated to begin in 2026, indicating a strong commitment to scaling up the manufacturing of these innovative vehicles.
