On the evening of October 31st, according to Kuaikeji, Wang Hua, General Manager of Xiaomi’s Public Relations Department, announced the latest progress in providing assistance to Xiaomi car owners who have been targeted by cyberattacks.
The latest developments are as follows:
Regarding the information collection for owners affected by cyberattacks, as of 24:00 on October 30th, a total of 12,237 individuals participated, with 819 providing relevant evidence. The breakdown of assistance types needed (multiple selections allowed) is as follows:
Guidance on collecting fixed evidence: 638 individuals
Issuance of lawyer’s letters: 556 individuals
Litigation support: 448 individuals
In terms of lawyer’s letters and litigation support, it is stated that currently “assistance has been provided to 9 car owners to submit to the court for filing.”
Wang Hua reminded car owners to strictly follow the guidance provided by the Xiaomi Auto community when reporting cyberbullying clues. This will enable Xiaomi to provide more effective assistance.
He affirmed, “Please believe that we stand firmly with our car owners.”
