On September 4th, Xiaomi officially announced that it has recruited 7,000 fresh graduates this year.
Xiaomi Group’s CEO, Lei Jun, shared this news, expressing his welcome to the new cohort: “This year’s 7,000 fresh graduates from Xiaomi Group have all reported for duty. They have come from all corners of the country to stand with Xiaomi at a new starting point.”
Addressing the needs of these new employees, Lu Weibing, a company executive, highlighted Xiaomi’s “Youth Apartment” initiative. This project is designed as a supportive measure to enable recent graduates to enjoy a high-quality living experience at a lower cost. This demonstrates Xiaomi’s commitment to employee well-being and easing the transition into professional life for young talent.
The apartments are conveniently located near Xiaomi’s Changping campus in Beijing. Each unit is available for a monthly rent of 1999 yuan, and with a total of 2600 units, priority is given to the new graduates. The provision of such housing is a strategic move by Xiaomi to attract and retain top young talent in a competitive job market, especially considering the high cost of living in major cities like Beijing.
To further enhance employee happiness and cultivate a vibrant new professional life for young people, Xiaomi’s Youth Apartment complex has been officially completed in Beijing. It comprises over 2600 units, with the primary layout being a 29-square-meter studio. These units are designed for immediate occupancy, featuring smart home technology, and shared amenities such as kitchens, a gym, and a cinema room, all set within a green environment with plane tree lawns. Xiaomi’s message to new hires is simple and encouraging: “Just bring yourself and your dreams; leave the rest to Xiaomi.” This emphasizes a supportive and all-encompassing employee experience.
